Aperol spritz cocktails in glasses with orange slices

There's nothing like a dash of bright orange Aperol to add a little something extra to a summer cocktail. These refreshing drinks will transport you to the Italian riviera and give you a taste of summer in a glass. Our favourite Aperol cocktails are perfect for sipping in the sunshine with friends – whether you're looking for a classy aperitif before dinner or a showstopping spritz to celebrate something special, embrace this beautiful bitter booze.

Once you've tried our classic Aperol spritz, why not experiment with more Italian-inspired cocktails?

Ice cube cocktails

Coloured ice cubes in tray
Prep these tasty ice cubes in advance for a simple frozen cocktail whenever the occasion arises. Freeze your Aperol chunks until solid, then pop them into glasses of cool homemade lemonade or just soda water for an instant thirst-quencher. Try experimenting with our other flavours like green olive cubes to make a super-speedy dirty martini. Keep cool this summer with our quick and easy aperitifs.

Aperol & limoncello cocktail

Limoncello cocktails with other aperitifs
Combine two classic Italian flavours in our Aperol & limoncello cocktail. This fruity concoction makes an ideal party punch. A dash of orange juice brings freshness to this super simple drink – try serving with sliced oranges or skewered lemons for a picture-perfect flourish.

Want to go all out? Try making your own boozy limoncello. As well as being great for cocktails, it's delicious poured over ice cream.

Aperol negroni

Negroni in glass with ice and orange slice
Dust off your cocktail cabinet and try adapting a true hero of the bar menu. Try a twist on a classic with our Aperol negroni. A conventional negroni uses a 1:1:1 ratio of gin, vermouth and Campari, but the ratios make it easy to play around with the recipe. If you find Campari too intense, try replacing it with slightly sweeter Aperol. Cincin everyone!

Grapefruit spritz

Spruce up your spritz with one zesty addition. Our grapefruit spritz looks suitably festive and only uses a handful of ingredients. This impressive looking recipe is surprisingly easy to make. Just mix the grapefruit juice and Aperol, top up with prosecco, and garnish with a twist. If you're a true stickler for traditional flavours, try our aperitivo spritz, which uses a glug of champagne rather than prosecco.

I don't understand how it is that a web-site whose title includes the words "good food" can have recipes for alcoholic drinks. Alcohol is a poison and also causes a huge blood sugar spike. Just empty calories with zero nutritional value. Amazing!
