One of the useful ways to distinguish between wines is to indicate the body of the wine. It’s an indicator of the way the wine feels in your mouth before you swallow.
Light-bodied is used to describe wine that seems delicate, or even simply thin. Full-bodied is for wine that is very mouth-filling, whether it is a rich, sweet wine, or an alcoholic table wine made from ripe grapes.
Medium-bodied lies in between. Choosing between light and medium or medium and full can be difficult, but it’s a skill that comes with practice.
