Method

  • step 1

Crumble the mince in a large bowl, then tip in the breadcrumbs, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, parsley and eggs with 1 tsp ground pepper and 1-2 tsp salt. Mix with your hands to combine everything thoroughly.

  • step 2

Shape the mix into 12 burgers. Chill until ready to cook for up to 24 hrs. Or freeze for up to 3 months. Just stack between squares of baking parchment to stop the burgers sticking together, then wrap well. Defrost overnight in the fridge before cooking.

  • step 3

To cook the burgers, heat grill to high. Grill burgers for 6-8 mins on each side until cooked through. Meanwhile, warm as many buns as you need in a foil-covered tray below the grilling burgers. Let everyone assemble their own, served with their favourite accompaniments.

I made them tonight for a friends and family BBQ. Followed the recipe exactly. They came very bready and very dry. Wasn't nice. It needs to have the half the recommended bread crumbs. Unfortunately didn't work out for me today. Will try next time with less bread crumbs.

I didn't try these as I'm vegetarian, but made them for my super-fussy family and they went down a storm, so gave them 5 stars! Very easy to make, mixture held together really well. Will definitely make again.

Having read the reviews I was looking forward to these burgers, but I have to say they were awful! There is so much bread in them that they are not a nice texture and the cheese just makes them fatty, even though I always use very lean mince. Usually the reviews are spot on, but on this occasion I…

My children are very difficult to please and these went down a treat! Easy to make and much happier knowing what's gone in their burgers!

Really easy to make, although I fried instead of grilled. Will definitely make this recipe again. So basic you can't go wrong.
