Easy chicken wing recipe ideas

Make these moreish chicken wings for a Friday night sharing platter. Choose from sticky or spicy marinades, including chilli with maple syrup or mango chutney with lime.

How to make chilli maple wings

  1. Add 350g chicken wings to a baking tray, drizzle with oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Mix well.
  2. Bake for 30 mins at 180C/160C fan/gas 4.
  3. Meanwhile, heat 1 tbsp butter and 50g hot chilli sauce. Add 1 tbsp light brown soft sugar, ½ tbsp maple syrup and a pinch of salt. Bring to the boil and stir well. 
  4. Cover the chicken wings with the chilli maple sauce and bake for a further 20 mins at 180C/160C fan/gas 4, basting halfway through.

How to make sweet & sticky sesame wings

  1. Add 350g chicken wings to a baking tray, drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Mix together. 
  2. Bake for 30 mins at 180C/160C fan/gas 4. 
  3. To a small bowl, add a pinch of dried oregano, the zest of ½ lemon, 1½ tbsp honey, ½ tbsp toasted sesame seeds and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Mix well. 
  4. Cover the chicken wings with the sauce. Bake for a further 20 mins at 180C/160C fan/gas 4, basting halfway through. 

How to make mango & lime wings 

  1. Add 350g chicken wings to a baking tray, drizzle with oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Mix together. 
  2. Bake for 30 mins at 180C/160C fan/gas 4. 
  3. To a small bowl, add 4 tbsp mango chutney and zest of ½ lime. Mix well.  
  4. Cover the chicken wings with the sauce. Bake for a further 20 mins at 180C/160C fan/gas 4, basting halfway through.

These recipes all serve two people. Use 1kg chicken wings and double the sauce to serve 4-6.
