Absolutely delicious! I wouldn't put all the sugar in, we took the advice from people on here who had made it before and only put in 3/4 of the sugar and it was still really sweet. Going to try with half the sugar again tonight....yummy!!

Well - used the sauce in last nights dinner and I was very disappointed. The sauce was not barbecue at all just seemed like a spicy tomato sauce - my husband LOVED it and agreed that it didnt look or taste like barbecue sauce, but it was still one of the most tastiest sauces he has ever had!

Not ready to rate this recipe as I havent actually tried it with a meal yet - but I made it in advance and instead of plain brown sugar I only had light muscavado. I read all the comments as I always do and used less sugar, added chilli and tabasco - the colour looks bright red and it tastes highly of tomato puree. I think it would be better as a spicy sauce added to plain pasta but am gonna coat some pork steaks in it for dinner tonight and let you know how it goes :)

Delicious! Marinated some chicken fillets for the grill and froze the rest!

Great sauce, added less sugar (around 60g) so it wasn't too sweet. Also added chilli flakes and paprika to spice it up a little.

Made this for a BBQ- very nice. Used chicken on the bone without skin. Left on overnight & scored the chicken. The sauce tenderised the meat. Although not recommended when not cooked- too sweet.
