  1. Heat half the oil in a non-stick pan, then brown the chicken all over. Add half the chopped rosemary, stir to coat, then set aside on a plate.

  2. In the same pan, heat the rest of the oil, then gently cook the onion for about 5 mins until soft. Add the garlic, anchovies and remaining rosemary, then fry for a few mins more until fragrant. Pour in the tomatoes and capers with the wine, if using, or 75ml water if not. Bring to the boil, then return the chicken pieces to the pan. Cover, then cook for 20 mins until the chicken is cooked through. Season and serve with a crisp green salad and crusty bread.

Absolutely beautiful meal! Didn't use fresh Rosemary as supermarket didn't have any as per.....but dried was fine just threw in a bit more than was probably required, but it worked just fine....A really rustic taste that will become a family favourite. Easy to make and the ingredients were cheap......5 stars for sure, try this one out its yummy del ;0) Oh I served it with new potato's and green beans

Made it for a Friday night supper when friends came for the weekend. It was quick and tasty. Served it with cous cous and a green salad.

Good! Lacked a little something, but a good simple dish all the same. Added mushrooms to bulk it out and a splash of madeira red wine for depth

Cheap easy midweek supper - but very tasty. I had half a tub of ricotta cheese which needed to be used up so when everything was ready to serve up I put it into the chicken mix, served with penne pasta which I also added when cooked to the chicken mix, along with a couple of tablespoons of the past water - served with green salad - lovely!

I made this in my slow cooker yesterday looking forward to coming home from a hard day at work to a lovely treat however I found this very bland. To try and save it I added some smoked paprika, cayene pepper and some roasted peppers and popped on the hob for 20 mins. It was in the end delish!

Made this for our anniversary meal and it went down an absolute treat with some carrots, green beans and home made garlic bread. Have made again since and added mushrooms. Have left put the anchovies both times as a non fish eater and had no complaints from hubby.

This dish just cries out for dumplings! Little suet ones just scattered about, no need for potatoes or rice etc., then, just vegetables. . .lovely, winter can have advantages!!
