A great cake that is ideal for autumn/winter

Ingredients

  • 200g caster sugar
  • 200g butter, little extra for greasing cake tin
  • 200g self- raising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 apples, cored and peeled
  • 3 tsp cinnamon

Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 200c/ gas 5
    2. Add the sugar and butter together in a bowl and mix together until both are combined and nice and fluffy
    3. Add the flour to the butter/sugar mix and combined together until it forms a gooey mixture
    4. Add the one egg and stir into the mixture. Add the other egg and stir all together. The mixture should be slight runny but still have a slight stiffness
    5. Add the cinnamon to the mix and stir well then add the peeled and chopped apple to the mix and stir together
    6. Put the mixture into the cake tin and place in the over for 30- 40 minuets until golden brown.
    7. Once cooked place onto a wire rack and leave to cool. Serve slightly warm for a better taste

Loved this, it wa so easy to make. My husband and I nearly finished it off in one sitting, yummy!!

This is really delicious, the mixture seems very dry which makes the mixing with the apples awkward, I didn't add anything and it worked out fine, mixed the cinnamon in with the flour to ensure it was evenly distributed, very yummy.

i have baked this cake the other day and was gone by the next day !made them again today and will be hiding some for myself ! :-) i thought it was absolutely gorgeous !
