Am easy and simple way of storing the summer abundance in your flavor ready to use for the cold winter days! Once the cubes are frozen, transfer them to a heavy plastic freezer bag, and take them out one by one as you need them. They will be great for flavoring soups, sauces, salad dressings, etc.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of fresh basil leaves
  • olive oil
  • ice cube trays

Method

    1. chop basil leaves fine
    2. mix in olive oil to make a thick paste
    3. divide in equal portions in the ice cube trays and put in freezer
    4. when frozen transfer to bags and keep frozen
    5. do not thaw before use but add the frozen cubes strait in your pasta sauces, etc
