Ingredients

  • 4/5 Hot cross buns
  • 250 ml whole milk
  • 250ml double cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1tsp castor sugar
  • 2tbsp demerara sugar

Method

    1. Preheat oven 180c, gas mark 4
    2. Grease an ovenproof dish about 20cmx25cmx5cm
    3. Slice buns in halve and spread one side with butter, place in the dish covering the bottom
    4. Beat the milk, eggs, cream and castor sugar and pour over the buns. Leave to soak for 30mins.
    5. Sprinkle over the demerara sugar and bake for about 40mins. Serve hot
