You can freeze these fruity combinations ahead of time to make these recipes that little bit easier. Pop your chopped frozen fruit into the blender, sit back and enjoy!

Points to remember:

Purple: Blackberry & beetroot

4cm piece fresh ginger, peeled
2 small cooked beetroot, roughly chopped
small handful blackberries
1 pear, roughly chopped
250ml coconut water

Put all of the ingredients except for the coconut water into a freezer bag and freeze until solid. When you want to serve transfer to a blender along with 250ml coconut water and blitz until smooth and thick. Serve immediately.

Pink: avocado & strawberry smoothie

4 tbsp low-fat natural yogurt
1/2 avocado, stoned, peeled and cut into chunks
150g strawberries, halved
200ml semi-skimmed milk honey to taste

Freeze the yogurt in an icecube tray for 3-4 hours or until solid then transfer to a freezer bag with the avocado and strawberries. Freeze overnight or for up to 3 months. When ready to serve tip all the frozen ingredients into your blender and add the milk. Blitz until smooth, serve straight away or add a little honey if you prefer it sweeter.

Green: Lean green smoothie

1 Medjool date, stoned and chopped
1 small ripe banana, sliced
small handful of frozen spinach
250ml unsweetened almond milk

Put the dates, banana and frozen spinach into a freezer bag. Freeze for up to 3 months or until needed. To serve the smoothie blend the frozen ingredients with the almond milk until smooth.

Orange: Sunshine smoothie

100g pineapple (fresh or canned), chopped
1 banana, broken into chunks
small piece ginger, peeled
10g cashew nuts
250ml carrot juice,
Juice 1/2 lime

Freeze the pineapple, banana, ginger and cashews in a freezer bag for up to 3 months. To serve blend with the carrot and lime juice.
