A delicious, sweet sauce from Japan. Perfect company with katsu curries.

  • 1 tbsp Malt Vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 + 1/12 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 2 tsp Tamarind Paste


  1. Gently heat the vinegar, sugar and soy sauces in a small pan until the sugar has dissolved.

  2. Stir in the remaining ingredients and set aside to cool.

My kids love this with a chicken in panko breadcrumbs, rice & stir fries. Huge amount of sugar so we don't have it too often!
