step 1
Preheat the oven to 200C, 180 fan oven and gas mark 6. Line a 12 hole cupcake tin with cupcake cases.

Cream together your butter and sugar until combined.

Add in 1 egg and 1/3 of your flour. Repeat this step until you have no eggs or flour left. Mix until it is all combined.

Put an even amount of mixture into the oven for 20 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

While the cakes are cooling, make the buttercream by: mixing together the butter and icing sugar until combined. If it is not mixing well and is going rough, then add a splash of milk.

Pipe/spread your icing across the cakes. Make sure you get an even layer of buttercream.
