This recipe was originally tested using metric measurements and has since been converted to cups.

  • 2 tsp simple
    syrup or 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1-2 dashes of bitters
  • splash of water
  • 2 oz bourbon
    or rye whiskey
  • soda water
    (optional)
  • orange slice
    to garnish
  • maraschino cherry
    to garnish (optional)

Method

  • step 1

    Put the syrup, bitters and water in a small tumbler. Mix until the sugar dissolves. Fill your glass with ice and stir in the bourbon or whiskey. Add a splash of soda water if you like and mix. Garnish with the orange and cherry, if using.
