Terra di Limoni limoncello di Amalfi (25% ABV)

Star rating: 8/10

Read our full review of the best limoncello

Terra di Limoni was established in 1982 on the Amalfi coast, in the town of Minori at the foot of the Lattari Mountains, an ideal location for a limoncello brand given the fertile terroir and crystal clear waters.

In 2002 the distillery was bought by the De Riso family and there couldn’t have been more perfect buyers. For three generations the De Riso family has specialised in the production of the Sfusato lemon, the world-famous fruit that has made the limoncello industry in Amalfi so successful.

This limoncello is made nearly entirely by hand; lemons are harvested and peeled by hand and the peels macerated in white spirit for no less than 24 hours. Clocking in at 30% ABV, the Terra di Limoni packs a bit more of a punch than some other bottles.

This truly is Amalfi in a bottle, it is refreshing and juicy with a waxy texture which smooths out the palate, the overall character is sweet and well rounded with a hint of bubblegum on the finish.

The perfect pour

Straight from the freezer over one large ice cube. The lemon is so perfectly sweet that it requires no intervention, so if you are looking to stretch this one out, then opt for a soda water.
