  • 75g dark chocolate 70% grated

  • 4 tbsp low-fat yogurt

  • 2 large egg whites
  • 2 tsp caster sugar
  • 350g berries (try blueberries, raspberries, cherries or a mix)


  1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water, making sure the bowl doesn’t directly touch the water. Once melted, allow it to cool for 5-10 mins, then stir in the yogurt.

  2. Whisk the egg whites until stiff, then whisk in the sugar and beat until stiff again. Fold the whites into the chocolate mix – loosen the mixture first with a spoonful of egg white, then carefully fold in the rest, keeping as much air as possible.

  3. Put berries into small glasses or ramekins, then divide mousse on top. Chill in the fridge until set.

iv made this twice now, absolutely delicious!! very rich and creamy, the second time i used fromage frais as i had no yoghurt left, it took a lot of the edge off, would recomment if u find the yoghurt version too strong.

These tasted better than I expected from the healthy recipe. I thought the yogurt might make it a bit tart, but the chocolate compensated for it, I think. You do have to find something to do with the egg yolks though, so you get the fat sooner or later. I put mine in a strawberry semifreddo (also on this site) which is now in my freezer for St.George's Day.

Not as nice as a traditional chocolate mousse, but still a yummy low fat treat that I will make again.

These were nice, I made 2 dark chocolate and 2 white chocolate ones. The white chocolate mousse needs a little less yoghurt than the recipe suggests and the dark chocolate ones were a little too bitter for me. Next time I might try with milk chocolate. I grated a little of the chocolate over the top too just before serving which was lovely. I used de-frosted berries instead of fresh which were lovely and tart.

Very surprised at how tasy this was .. and how well the yoghurt worked instead of cream .. a couple of hundred calories saved there. Will try it with milk chocolate for my kids .

Really tasty and really simple. So suprised how low-calorie it was and using the yogurt worked well. I used half milk chocolate and half dark choclate just because i didnt have much dark chocolate in. Will definatley make it again.

It was great having this dessert knowing how little calories it had. It was very easy to prepare and had a strong, chocolaty taste. Next time I will try it with white chocolate.

these were average....quite rich for moi tho....somebody else thought they would be really nice with home made yogurt instead....
