Also known as scallions or green onions, spring onions are in fact very young onions, harvested…

Method

  1. Boil the noodles following pack instructions, adding the green beans for the final 2 mins. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin, lime juice and chilli sauce. In a wok or frying pan, heat the oil, then fry the mince until nicely browned. Add the garlic and fry for 1 min more. Stir in the hoisin mixture and cook for a few mins more until sticky. Finally, stir in the noodles, beans and half the spring onions to heat through. Scatter over the remaining spring onions to serve.

This was horrible! The turkey mince just became a pulp like mixture and didn't brown up in the wok. The hoision mix with chilli and lime didn't work for us and we ended up binning it.

I substituted prawns for the turkey mince and it worked very well. The finished dish was lovely especially with the green beans.

Superb dish, the only changes i made was I added broccoli as i had no green beans, no chillis added either. This was a big hit in my house, will do again.

Fantastic dish. So easy and quick to cook yet packed with flavour. Filling comfort food and healthy too! Although not listed on any hoisin sauce I have purchased I have found it to be freezable - most packets / bottles recommend ditching after being opened for a few days

I think hoi sin sauce is so yummy that adding lime and chilli to it is a bit of a waste. I was not sure which type of chilli sauce to use, I can tell you that one tablespoon of tabasco is WAY TOO MUCH heat!

A nice recipe. I found it to be a little too limey so I will probably use a bit less next time. The family enjoyed it though and it was very low fat!

Absolutely delicious, easy to prepare with minimal washing up. Perfect for a quick & easy supper. I used a small red onion instead of spring onions.worked well.
