Ingredients

  • 500 grams New Zealand pork shoulder, diced
  • 2 tablespoons clear honey
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour

Method

  • STEP 1
    Place the diced pork in a heavy-based saucepan.
  • STEP 2
    Mix the honey, tomato sauce, soy sauce, tomato puree, vinegar, salt and pepper together and pour over the pork. Stir and cover
  • STEP 3
    Simmer for 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Stir during cooking.
  • STEP 4
    Mix the cornflour with a little water and add to the mixture
  • STEP 5
    Cook until it thickens
