Hi, The bitter taste may have come from the quinoa, before you cook it you must rinse it in cold water, it should taste fine after that. I hope it helps!

I followed the recipe as it was and it makes a really yummy soup! Impressed. Used balti paste which was perfect for my milder tastes.

Not really laksa but a delicious soup nonetheless. I did half the amount, but used extra madras paste and fresh veg (broccoli, asparagus, baby corn, green pepper and courgette). Used half skimmed milk and half chicken stock. Really flavoursome and filling, and very healthy. Loved it, will finitely make again.

Had some leftover quinoa and decided to give this recipe a go as it looked fast & easy. Fast & easy it was, but I was completely let down by the flavour and texture. It was runny, had an altogether unpleasant taste, and was just generally disappointing. It seems a shame as the recipe made so much! Usually bbc good food is my number one stop for recipe inspiration & nine times out of ten the result is delucious, but I wouldn't try this again.

Really great recipe; so fast and easy! Good to make if you're in a rush and not much in the fridge. Also, it's good to find a recipe using quinoa.

What a tasty way of getting so much veg! Very filling, quick and easy. Changes: I used stock and Kara dairy alternative (instead of cow's milk) and I used 4 teaspoons of paste (not tablespoons). Everybody agreed we'll all be having it again. Yum!

This was a really easy, really tasty midweek supper. First time we'd tried quinoa and, in this recipe, it went down a treat. Will definitely be making this again.

I too was rather dubious about this recipe so I tweaked it by adding a sachet of coconut cream to the milk. I didn't use frozen veg either but just threw in a little of whatever was in the fridge. Totally delicious! Even without the changes I made I still think this would be really tasty.
