Book now for this exclusive subscriber-only event on Wednesday, 14 August.

Earlier this year, chef Gary Usher and the Elite Bistros team – the group behind Chester’s Sticky Walnut and Liverpool’s Wreckfish – launched an ambitious Kickstarter campaign to open Kala in Manchester. Raising a record-breaking £100k in just 11 hours, it became the fastest-funded restaurant project in the world, and opened its doors in May.

Kala serves bistro classics, such as beef tartare, roasted octopus and pumpkin seed purée, plus their signature dish, braised feather blade of beef served with truffle and parmesan chips. Guests can watch desserts being made at the ‘pastry pass’ behind the downstairs bar.

At our subscriber-only event, you’ll meet chef Gary and get the chance to ask him your culinary questions, then you’ll enjoy a four-course dinner with paired wines at communal tables. You’ll also receive a goody bag to take home, worth £25.

    Date: Wednesday, 14 August

    Time: 7pm

Join us for an exclusive cocktail masterclass

Cocktails lined up in a bar

We’ve teamed up with Harvey Nichols and Campari to host an Italian summer cocktail masterclass to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the negroni.

The three--and-a-half-hour class begins with a light breakfast in the Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Café, followed by a two-hour interactive cocktail session with a Campari ambassador and the Harvey Nichols Bar team, demonstrating how to make three Italian favourites: the ultimate all-Italian negroni, an Aperol Spritz and the O’ndina Gin Riviera Fizz. You'll then be invited behind the bar to mix your own drinks and indulge in an Italian lunch paired with the cocktails you've learned to make.

There are only 20 places available for lucky subscribers and their guests.
