And to celebrate the start of Chinese New Year on 29 January, the brand has curated a collection of richly flavoured recipes that you can make using its products, all of which are available at major retailers across the UK.

Think fluffy bao buns filled with Char Siu-marinated pork belly, and crispy rice paper pork dumplings, flavoured with Premium Light Soy Sauce. Celebrate Chinese New Year with Lee Kum Kee’s prosperity salad recipe – a vibrant dish symbolising luck and abundance. Gather around the table with your loved ones and toss the salad high! It’s believed that the higher you toss it, the greater your prosperity for the year ahead.

SERVES 4 | PREP 20 mins | COOK 10 mins | EASY

Ingredients

• 4 tbsp dry roasted peanuts, crushed

• 2 tbsp white sesame seeds

• 100g wonton pastry, cut into strips

• vegetable oil

• 1 white radish, cut into matchsticks

• 1 cucumber, cut into matchsticks

• 2 carrots, peeled and cut into matchsticks

• 1 red pepper, sliced

• 1 yellow pepper, sliced

• 100g pickled shallots, sliced

• 200g smoked salmon, thinly sliced

• 1 red grapefruit, cut into segments

• 100g pickled ginger

• bunch of coriander, leaves picked and roughly chopped

For the dressing

• 200g Lee Kum Kee Plum Sauce

• ½ tsp Chinese five-spice powder

• ½ tsp ground white pepper

• 2 tsp Lee Kum Kee Pure Sesame Oil

• 1½ limes, juiced

Method

1 Toast the crushed peanuts and sesame seeds in a frying pan over a medium heat for around 2 mins or until fragrant, then set aside. In the same pan, fry the wonton strips in a little oil until golden and crispy on each side (you may need to do this in batches). Meanwhile, squeeze out any excess water from the white radish and pat dry with paper towels.

2 On a large, shallow platter, place the white radish, cucumber, carrots, red pepper, yellow pepper, pickled shallots and fried wonton strips in separate piles around the edge. Arrange the smoked salmon in a rose shape in the centre and fill any gaps with the grapefruit segments and pickled ginger, then sprinkle the coriander and toasted nuts across the top.

3 Mix all the dressing ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave on high for 1 min, then leave to cool. Place a third of the dressing into a serving bowl for guests to top up if they wish, then pour the remaining dressing over the salad just before the prosperity toss.
