  1. Boil the spaghetti in salted water for 6 mins. Add the broccoli and boil for 4 mins more or until both are just tender.

  2. Meanwhile, mix the shallots, olives, capers, tuna and lemon zest and juice in a roomy serving bowl. Drain the pasta and broccoli, add to the bowl and toss really well with the olive oil and lots of black pepper. Serve with a little extra olive oil drizzled over.

I found it lite but at the some time it was a bit bland for me, my husband enjoy it and he even had it for lunch the next day.. i think its missing something, i even added some chilli, i will try it again, but will add something to add raste to it

Fresh tasting and delicious! I use wholewheat spaghetti for extra health benefits, and use the oil from the tuna for extra fishy flavour rather than separate olive oil. It does need seasoned well with lots of black pepper, last time I added a touch of white wine vinegar too. You could add a couple of finely chopped anchovies for a more umami / puttanesca edge, or even low fat creme fraiche loosened with a little of the cooking water/oil. So quick and simple too.

Delicious and so simple! I used a tin of tuna in chilli oil which gave it an extra kick.

Perfect recipe! Very healthy, simple and ready in an eye wink.

Yummy! Like some others, I also added black olives as well as green. I did omit the shallots though as I'm not a big fan. Super easy to make after work when you don't want anything fussy or complicated, yet is really healthy. Would definitely make again.

Liked this, albeit I used a red onion,cooked which added colour. As others say, pain to mix,next time will keep sep and just pop on top of spaghetti. Cut broccoli into bite size. Will do again

Next time I would probably use Tuna in brine and drain it - as it was a bit gloopy when mixed in with the other ingredients. I also made the mistake of squeezing in quite a bit of lemon juice, which was too overpowering. Other than that, it was a great mid-week meal.

Very easy to make and I found the sauce tasted even better the next day! I will definitely prepare this the night before busy, non-cooking, days from now on!

I used durum wheat linguine instead of spaghetti, and chucked some spinach in with the broccoli to make up for not having any olives. Tasty, quick and easy dish for when I'm too tired to make an effort.

Was nice, used cream and added red onion not shallots with a touch of rose and demara sugar and added sesame seeds before serving.
