Lovely fresh salsa. Had run out of white wine vinegar but used a little extra lime. Also added some fresh red chilli very finely chopped as we like a little kick. Would absolutely work without too. A great base recipe to tweak to your liking

Lovely, fresh salsa! I didn't bother skinning the tomatoes but I did remove the watery insides.

Made this for my family and we all absolutely loved it! Tastes so fresh and healthy, not like the rubbish you buy in the shop. I would recommend putting 1/4 of the salsa mix into a food processor tho, then mixing that it into it. Makes it more saucy for dipping. But 100% would recommend this recipe and will be making again.

Great recipe , makes a really fresh salsa worlds apart from the gloopy mess you get with commercial products in jars Good call on adding tomato purée I did the same. I halved the recipe and added 1/2 Tsp sriracha sauce I found it better not to peel the tomatoes to keep a good texture. Leave in fridge for 20mins for flavours to develop, taste and add a little brown sugar If required. Served with Nachos for two as a side

Followed instructions. Added teaspoon dried chilli flakes. Tablespoon tomato purée. Was bliss. Freshest tastiest salsa. Great recipe .

Unclear instructions, wouldn’t use half an onion would definitely use less, and also would fry onions and garlic next time before adding to the mixture. I also added 4 table spoons of olive oil and used red wine vinegar instead of white then mixed everything together but had to mash it all as it just was not salsa consistency.

What's unclear? The ingredients list states how to prep, then mix together. Nothing could be simpler. Also never cook the onion etc first, they are meant to be raw, chunky and fresh. That is exactly how salsa should be. It may not have been what you expected if you usually huy, but do give it chance, it is delicious made properly :)

Salsa is not meant to be mushy like cheap processed salsa in a jar. It is meant to be chunky!

This is delicious although for some reason my tomatoes were a bit pale once they had been skinned. The flavour was lovely.

Thanks for your question. This recipe does not freeze well. We'd recommend making it and serving it fresh.

Lovely chunky, fresh salsa however if you like it a bit looser like myself just add a small amount of tomato passata.
