  • 150g pot low-fat natural yogurt

  • 2 tbsp hot curry paste
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
  • 250g pack cherry tomatoes
  • 4 wholemeal chapatis, warmed, to serve

For the cucumber salad

  • ½ cucumber, halved lengthways, deseeded and sliced

  1. Put 8 wooden skewers in a bowl of water to soak. Mix the yogurt and curry paste together in a bowl, then add the chicken (if you have time, marinate for an hr or so). In a large bowl, toss together the cucumber, red onion, coriander and lemon juice. Chill until ready to serve.

  2. Shake off any excess marinade, then thread the chicken pieces and cherry tomatoes onto the pre-soaked skewers. Cook under a medium grill for 15-20 mins, turning from time to time, until cooked through and nicely browned.

  3. Stir the lettuce or pea shoots into the salad, then divide between 4 plates. Top each serving with 2 chicken tikka skewers and serve with the warm chapatis.

An excellent mid week meal. Really tasty! Served with a mint and garlic raita, white rice and the cucumber salad. When making the salad I only used half a lemon so it was not too overpowering.

We all really loved this. I marinade the chicken overnight and I used 3tbs of masala curry paste(as i'm still getting used to spicy food!) They were cooked on the BBQ and tasted gorgeous. I ended up having to use soya yoghurt due to an intolerence of one of the guests, but no body noticed, and they tasted really lovey. This recipe is simple yet very tastey ;-)

I have made these twice now for BBQ's. They are quick and easy and look good when cooked. Next time I will try using a little less hot curry paste for a milder curry flavour as some people found them too spicey. My partner and I enjoyed them just as they were in the recipe.

Dead easy to make. Low calorie so friendly to weight watchers. Have used the same marinade for white fish and baked in foil which came out well. This isn't a recipe that generates a sauce though, so although the chicken is tasty it does come out a bit too dry to serve on its own. I made a quick yogurt/mint raita to go with it which helped a lot.

We did these on the BBQ and loved them! Didn't do the salad but served it with naan, rice and yoghurt & mango chutney dips....lovely and summery and really easy to prepare

Yes this is a great recipe and so healthy! I usually marinade the chicken overnight so it gets all the flavour. I have done this on the BBQ and under the grill and it works out great every time. I also marinaded chicken thighs recently in the same way and stuck them in the oven for 45mins, then threw them on the BBQ for 5 mins to crispen up and they were moist and full of flavour!

These are fantastic, you'd never guess they were low fat and you can make them in minutes! Certainly one to try and perfect for the barbecue.

This so easy to make, I did it last night and my friends loved them, they were great in pitta breads with the salad and a raita sauce.
