  • big pinch chilli flakes
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • good drizzle extra virgin olive oil


  1. Cut the avocado in half and carefully remove its stone, then scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Squeeze in the lemon juice then mash with a fork to your desired texture. Season to taste with sea salt, black pepper and chilli flakes. Toast your bread, drizzle over the oil then pile the avocado on top.

Instead of the chilli flakes I added a crushed garlic clove. I also popped a poached egg on top of the mashed avocado and it was really tasty! A simple but really tasty and filling lunch. Will definitely be a firm favourite from now on :)

Delicious and you can make all sorts of variations by adding crumbled goat's cheese, bacon, etc.
