Method

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the onion and peppers, and cook for 8 mins until softened. Tip in the spices and cook for 1 min.

  2. Tip in the beans and tomatoes, bring to the boil and simmer for 15 mins or until the chilli is thickened. Season and serve with rice, if you like.

Absolutely delicious and SO simple to make, as well as being very filling! We had ours with multigrain rice, sour cream and grated cheddar which was lovely

This recipe was delicious. My husband doesnt really like eating anything without meat in so the fact that he really enjoyed this was fab as I like to have veggie days in my week. I substituted the chilli powder for tandoori powder as I dont really like very hot food and it turned out lovely. a very mild kick. Will be making again

This was flavorful but definitely too "hot", i will reduce the amount of chilli powder but will definitely be making it again. I highly recommend it.

As a new(ish) vegetarian the meal I have been missing the most is chilli, tried making it quorn mince but just wasn't the same.. made this the other day as another attempt & it was so delicious, plus quick and easy! Definitely recommend, added turmeric too for health benefits.

I make this every few weeks. It is so delicious! I am not a vegetarian, but no longer make meat chilli as this is so much better (and cheaper!). I use two tins of tomatoes, along with a squirt of tomato puree, and the spice level is just about right for me this way. I also use chickpeas instead of the mixed beans. I normally serve with rice, and grate some cheese on top, but is even nicer the next day on a baked potato or in a tortilla with guacamole and sour cream. This will be a favourite in my house for many years to come.

Absolutely delicious- my normally picky 5 and 2 year olds scoffed the lot! Highly recommend, and cheap too! (Left out the paprika as we didn't have any though)

Made this for a Mexican themed dinner at ours! Went down amazingly! I served it with crispy and soft tacos lettuce, tomatoes, gucomole, sour cream, jalapeños, salsa and cheese. It was gooooood! Just put it all on the table and let everybody make their tacos how they want! I doubled the recipe to feed 6 and there was still Pleanty left over. I froze it in batches and then had some of a sweet potaote! It was tasty! This is a new favourite in my house.

When i first made this recipe i served it with rice and both myself and my partner didn't think much of it. Then i made it again as a jacket potato topping and it was amazing! Now i make a huge batch every month and freeze it for easy dinners and lunches, it's really yummy on top of chips aswell! One of my two year olds favourite meals, she asks for more every time.

Great recipe - easy and delicious! I added some extra green and red chillies to this (needed a kick!) and it went down very well at a party. A plate of tortilla wraps with bowls of guacamole, sour cream and grated cheese will allow people to make their own chilli wraps. I shall certainly use this recipe again - thanks! :-)
