  • Lemon zest (optional)
  • Splash of water
  • 250g plain flour
  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 275g golden caster sugar
  • 1 tsp Demerara sugar
  • 1 tsp Muscovado sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Method

  • STEP 1
Prep your apples,(to achieve the most textures add different types of apples) Peel and core your apples then slice into chunks.
  • STEP 2
When all the apples have been prepped, pour them into a medium size pot. Add a splash of water into the apples, turn on heat, sprinkle the sugar on top evenly then zest a lemon for an extra flavour, Place the lid on top for about 6-7mins until tender.

  • STEP 4
Turn of heat, pour the apples into a heat proof bowl and sprinkle over the crumble mixture evenly.
