This scrumptious cake was made by substituting oranges for lemons. It seems a bit long to bake, but it's worth the wait!

  • For the cake:
  • 225g Unsalted Butter or Margarine, softened
  • 225g Self-Raising Flour
  • 225g Caster Sugar
  • 4 Medium Free-range eggs
  • Finely grated zest of 1 orange
  • For the drizzle:
  • 50g Granulated Sugar
  • Juice of 2 Oranges
  • Equipment:
  • 2lb loaf tin, lined
  • Large Bowl


    Pre-heat the oven to Electric 180°C, Fan 160°C, Gas Mark 4.
