Chorizo and bean stew

  • 600g faba beans (or haricot or butterbeans)
  • 225g chorizo sausage
  • 1 bulb garlic peeled but not chopped
  • 300g streaky bacon
  • 160g black pudding
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 litre chicken stock
  • 2 tsp paprika


    1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and fry the onion and garlic until golden. Add the chorizo, black pudding, bacon, beans and stock and cook slowlyuntil it starts to foam.
    2. Add the paprika and continue to cook slowly for another 2.5 hours. Check the beans remain covered by adding water if necessary.
