Ingredients
- half an onion chopped
- approx 1 oz butter
- 2 teacups bamati rice (tilda works well)
- 3 and a half teacups boiling water
- half a tsp salt
- stock cube (veg works well)
- (medium ovenable frying pan with lid if not use foil)
- Pre-heat the oven to gas 4
Method
- STEP 1Fry the onions in the pan with the butter until clear and soft.
- STEP 2Stir in the rice.
- STEP 3Add the water, salt and crumble in the stockcube.
- STEP 4Do not over stir or the rice will release starch and it will become sticky.
- STEP 5Cover and put in the oven for 20 mins.
