A fruity, healthy and very easy to make treat for when you're on the go

  • 75g wholemeal or plain flour
  • 200g butter
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 3 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1 heaped tbsp mixed peel
  • 150g porridge/rolled oats


    1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 5/180C.
    2. Mix all of the ingredients together.
    3. Grease a square baking tin and pour mix into tin.
    4. Bake for 35-55 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
    5. Leave to cool, then cut into small quares.
    6. Enjoy!

This recipe is great. Just a bit too sweet for us. So reduced the sugar by 25g. And put a bit less oats and flour. Also do a dairy free version by using goats butter instead.
