  • 225 g of Margarine
  • 170 g of Soft Brown Sugar
  • 340 g of Plain Flour
  • 100g of Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 4 Tbsp of Golden Syrup
  • 4 Tbsp of Milk

    1. Cream the butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy
    2. Add the Golden Syrup, Milk and Chocolate Chips and mix (it may look a bit like scrambled eggs, but as long as they are mixed evenly it will work out well)
    3. Add the flour slowly and mix until the whole mixture is even
    4. It should be medium in consistency.. not too runny and not too thick. Add more flour/milk to even out if needed.
    5. Spoon out onto two greased baking trays to make about 10 large cookies (don't worry about the shape of the cookies.. they will all end up the same)
    6. Put the trays into a pre-heated oven of gas mark 5/170C/ fan 150C
    7. Keep an eye on the cookies and after about 10 minutes they should start to brown up.. when they are a browny-golden colour take out and allow to slightly cool. The cookies are best eaten when warm because the slightly un-baked centre will warm up and create the 'gooey' part. Just pop into the microwave for about 30 seconds to re-warm and they have the same effect!

Do not waste your time cooking these! I wanted to make some for my mums 50th birthday as I had hardly any money being a student and these were so disappointing. I wasted money and time and they didn't turn out how I expected even though I followed the recipe.

Made this recipe and was so disappointed. There was no real flavour at all. Ended up throwing out the entire batch!

I wish I'd read Samantha's post before I wasted all the ingredients on this horrible horrible recipe.

I just tried these and they turned out really cakey and horrible. I cooked one half and they turned out cakey, so i decided to add a little more milk to the other half but they did not crisp over at all. Really disappointed :|

These were very tasty. We used dark brown sugar as that was in the cupboard and added coco powder instead of some of the flour.
