  • 200g softened butter
  • 300g soft brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 300g self raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 300g m&ms

    Method

    • step 1

      Preheat the oven to 180C or gas mark 4
    • step 2

      Using a sieve, take out all the lumps in the brown sugar before creaming it with the butter.
    • step 3

      Now, add the baking powder and flour to the mixture but put in a third at a time in order to achieve maximum results.
    • step 4

      Putting in a quarter at a time, stir in the m&ms until fully combined.
    • step 5

      Now, spoon a tablespoon of the mixture onto a baking tray until all the mixture has been used.
    • step 6

      Finally, put the tray into the oven for 12-17 minutes then put them onto a cooling rack to cool.

    They taste okay but are very sticky. Eggs and vanilla extract are in the ingredients but not in the method.

    tip

    I added the extract when creaming the butter and sugar and then the eggs after flour (when I twigged they weren't noted either). Came out really well! Will make these again!

    how are they like double chocolate chip cookies if there is only one kind of chocolate in them, the M&Ms? I expected chocolate in the dough.

    As many of you will realise by the time it’s too late, the recipe forgot to mention when to put the eggs in, as the mixture was very dry as a result of the missing eggs I added a TINY bit of extra butter at the end and some toffee flavour syrup and I have to say these were hands down the best…

    So you didn't add any egg just extra butter and syrup? Quantities would be great as I sometimes have to bake without using eggs

    Ok so many will know when to add eggs ... just not those who read the recipe! Good cookies though esp with smarties
