A rice crispie traybake made with mars bars. Great for the kids!!

Mars bar mix

  • 3x65g mars bars
  • 75g unsalted butter
  • 75g rice crispies

Chocolate topping

  • 25g unsalted butter
  • 100g milk chocolate


  1. Lightly grease a 15cm (6in) shallow square tin.

  2. Cut the Mars bars into thin slices and put in pan with 75g of butter. Leave on low heat until melted, then beat till smooth.

  3. Stir in the rice crispies. Chill for an hour, (till set).

  4. Next put the chocolate and butter in a bowl and melt over hot water on a low heat and spread ontop.

Not a good recipe! Have made these many times but couldn't remember the quantities so used this recipe. Didn't use as many rice krispies as stated here and it doesn't state the size of the mars bars needed - mine were clearly slightly smaller as the mixture did not stay nicely stuck together when cool. Very disappointed.
