  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 300g Maris Piper potatoes
  • 2 boneless, skinless undyed smoked haddock fillets (approx 300g/11oz)
  • 140g long-stem broccoli

Like cabbage and cauliflower, broccoli is a brassica and is sometimes known by its Italian name…

  • 100ml double cream

  1. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6 and heat the oil in a large frying pan. Add the potatoes and fry for 10 mins until they begin to crisp. Transfer to a baking tray and bake in the oven while you cook the haddock.

  2. Put the haddock, broccoli and cream in the frying pan you used for the potatoes and bring to a simmer. Cover with a lid and cook for 8-10 mins, basting the haddock every now and again until it is cooked and the broccoli is tender. Serve with the chips.

This was very bland and tasteless. Wouldn't make again.
