  • 450g bag frozen peas
  • 800ml hot water (straight from the kettle)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable bouillon powder
  • small handful of chopped fresh mint, to serve

  1. Tip the frozen peas into a blender and pour over the hot water from a kettle. Leave the peas to defrost, then reserve 1 tbsp peas. Add a handful mint and the vegetable bouillon powder to the rest. Blitz until smooth, then chill. Serve, drizzled with cream and scattered with some chopped mint and the reserved peas.

Disappointed, it tasted just like chopped up peas. If I try it again, I'll add some gently sweated onions.

My husband didn't like the look of this but was surprised by how good it was. Was asked to make it again the following day.

Just served this for a dinner party. Decided to serve hot. Very nice and received favourable comments. Only cpmmnet owuld be it started to seperate, but that me be becuazse I did not blend i to t a fine/smooth sauce. Would do again, ve easy (esp if you use mint sauce!)

Quick, easy, filling and absolutely delicious. I too had this warm. I'll wait until the summer finally kicks in before trying it cold.

This is the easiest starter I've ever made and probably the most successful! I must admit I did warm it up as I find cold soup a bit difficult to get my head around but everyone loved and wanted the recipe!
