Ingredients
for the sponge
- 50g butter
- 50g sugar
- 50g self-raising
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp of syrup/jam
Method
- STEP 1firstly, cream the butter and sugar together in a medium sized bowl until smooth
- STEP 2add the milk and beaten egg gradually, sift in the flour and fold in gently
- STEP 3put two tablespoons of the syrup in a microwaveable-safe bowl. Pour in the batter.
- STEP 4cook on full power in the microwave for 3 1/2 minutes, or untill the sponge has set and the top in sticky. Make custard and serve hot
