truly indian tomato chutney

Ingredients
- large salad tomatoes-10
- white granulated sugar-400 gms
- root ginger-4 cms
- black mustard seeds-1 tspf
- salt-1 pinch
- cooking oil-1/2 tspf
Method
- STEP 1finely chop tomatoes and set aside
- STEP 2heat the oil till it clears add the mustard seeds and wait till they start popping
- STEP 3add the chopped tomatoes,salt,sugar and grated ginger
- STEP 4simmer on low heat till the tomatoes soften and start cooking in their own juice
- STEP 5add 1 cup of boiled water and cook till the chutney looks deep red and glistening
- STEP 6serve with poppadums after cooling in the fridge for half an hour
