Ingredients

  • 200g soft margarine
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g self raising flour
  • 1.5 tbsp milk
  • 1.5 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 50g icing sugar
  • choice of decorations

Method

  • STEP 1
    Put 12 baking cases in a muffin tin
  • STEP 2
    Cream 100g of the margarine and all the sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy
  • STEP 3
    Beat eggs in a seperate bowl until bubbly
  • STEP 4
    Gradually add them to the mixture beating well in between additions. Make sure they are well mixed into the sugar and marge mixture.
  • STEP 5
    Sieve the flour and cocoa powder into the mixture and beat slowly
  • STEP 6
    Add the baking powder and mix
  • STEP 7
    Add the milk and beat. Add the mixture into the cases and bake in a preheated oven of 180C for 20 minutes
  • STEP 8
    When cakes have cooled, beat the icing sugar and the rest of the margarine together to create buttercream
  • STEP 9
    Decorate with choice of decorations
