Assyrian Iraqi Baneta Yelda is the director of operations at Companio Bakery in Manchester. She attended the School of Artisan Food in the Welbeck Estate in Nottinghamshire, where she gained a solid foundation in the art of baking. Baneta arrived in the UK from Iraq as a refugee in 2014. She used to work in the NHS as a scientist, but in the evenings she would spend hours learning how to cook family recipes, guided by her mum.
