How to freeze broccoli

  1. If you can fit a baking sheet into your freezer, then line one with a silicone sheet or baking parchment. If not, line a container that will fit.
  2. Break the broccoli into florets and chop the stems. Boil for 2-3 mins then drain thoroughly and cool completely.
  3. Lay the pieces of broccoli on the sheet so they’re not touching.
  4. Put the tray in the freezer for a few hours or until the broccoli is frozen through. Tip the pieces into containers or freezer bags and label them.

Frozen broccoli will keep for 3-6 months in the freezer, any longer and the texture or flavour may deteriorate.
