Aged to perfection

Bardinet VSOP is one of the UK’s bestselling brandies, but it’s crafted entirely with French passion and know-how, and is slowly matured in oak casks just outside of Bordeaux.

The result is a smooth, delicately mellow spirit that deserves to take centre stage on your Christmas drinks trolley – and the festive edition makes a thoughtful gift, too.

Shake up the season

With its bright amber colour and fruity aroma with hints of peach and fig, and a lingering oaky finish with sweet raisin notes, this brandy offers a wonderfully versatile base for your winter cocktails.

So, to celebrate the launch of this year’s limited-edition festive bottle, Bardinet has created five French-inspired serves that bring elegance and flavour to any festive occasion. Each one is super simple to make and guaranteed to impress your guests.

A 'Fireside marmalade' cocktail in a coupe glass with an orange garnish, beside a Bardinet VSOP brandy bottle, set against a festive red backdrop with pinecones and spices

Fireside marmalade

Mix up this aromatic, cosy cocktail by adding 40ml Bardinet Brandy VSOP, 1 tsp orange marmalade, 20ml Earl Grey tea, 20ml simple syrup and 20ml lemon juice to a shaker and shake well. Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish the edge with orange zest.

A bottle of Bardinet VSOP brandy and a 'Fizzy sledge' cocktail in a flute glass with a lemon twist on a marble table. Festive elements include red gifts, pinecones, and ribbons

Fizzy sledge

An effervescent, delicate and joyful serve, simply add 25ml Bardinet Brandy VSOP, 10ml honey syrup, 15ml elderflower liqueur and one slice of fresh ginger to a shaker. Shake and double strain into a champagne glass, then top up with sparkling wine and garnish with a lemon twist.

A fruity, festive cocktail ('Jingle mule') in a copper mug with ice and cherries sits on a tray beside a bottle of Bardinet VSOP brandy. Festive elements include pine cones and cinnamon sticks

Jingle mule

This fruity, festive cocktail is a twist on a classic mule. Add 2 tsp cherry preserve (not jam) and 20ml lemon juice to a copper mug, then stir to dissolve the preserve into a syrup. Add 30ml Bardinet Brandy VSOP, 20ml crème de mûre and ice cubes, then top up with ginger beer and garnish with fresh cherries.

A bottle of VSOP brandy next to a 'Mince Pie' cocktail garnished with cranberries and ice, set on a slate with almonds. Cocktail tools and festive decor are nearby

Mince pie

For this sweet, spiced and decadent drink, add 40ml Bardinet Brandy VSOP, 50ml cranberry juice, 15ml amaretto liqueur, 10ml cinnamon syrup and 10ml lemon juice to a shaker. Shake and double strain into a highball glass filled with ice, then garnish with almond flakes and a sprinkle of icing sugar.

A festive cocktail ('Spritz-mas') with ice, orange slice, and garnish is on a marble table, surrounded by cinnamon sticks, berries, and a liquor bottle, against rich red curtains

Spritz-mas

To create this bright, creamy cocktail, pour 15ml Bardinet Brandy VSOP, 15ml sherry cream and 10ml orange liqueur into a wine glass with ice. Top up with ginger ale and garnish with slices of orange and ginger, then squeeze the lemon zest to release its aromatic oils into the drink and discard.
