  1. Put the pears and sugar in a pan. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the pears have softened. Add the blackberries and cook for 2 minutes. Add a splash of liqueur, if using, and tip into an ovenproof dish, approximately 20cm x 30cm.
  2. Whizz the flour and butter in a food processor then stir in the oats and sugar. Pile on top of the fruit. Bake in a 190C/fan 170C/gas 5 oven for 30-35 minutes until golden and crisp. Serve with cream or ice cream.

Made this with half pear, half apple and the blackberries and it was absolutely brilliant - going to make again as it's a new family favourite!

I made this for Thanksgiving weekend meal. Everybody raved about it and I had to pass on the recipe. The recipe was very easy to follow and was so delicious and will definitely make it again.

Delicious and super easy! I mixed the flour ad butter by hand rather than in the blender which was fine! Lovely with some vanilla cream :)

The recipe indicates that it's freezable. Does one freeze before baking in the oven or after?
