Delicious, especially done with authentic Italian sausage which is meaty and slightly spicy. Can be done with Orichietti pasta as well.

I made this with mergez (middle eastern sausages) instead of pork sausages! Love the combination of fennel and tomato.

I used skinned Bratwurst for this as I forgot the sausages, yet my fiancé had bought some of the former, fortunately. He loved the Bratwurst and even said that it tasted better than usual. I, however, wasn't overly keen and will try regular sausages next time. This was a risky dish to serve up considering the fiancé's dislike of anything anise-seed like, however, the garlic and the chilli flakes balanced the flavour out and in my opinion, the fennel simply added sweetness as a result. Also, my fiancé liked it so much, he dug into a second helping! Result!!
