  1. Preheat your oven to fan 180C/conventional 200C/gas 6. Cut the potatoes into halves or quarters depending on their size and put them into a large roasting tin. Drizzle with the olive oil and roast for 10 minutes.

  2. Take the tin out of the oven and snuggle the sausages in between the potatoes so they sit on the bottom of the tin. Now roast for another 15 minutes, turning the sausages over at half time so they brown all over.

  3. While you’re waiting for the sausages to cook, gently heat the marmalade, mustard and cider in a small pan, stirring all the time until the marmalade has melted. Increase the heat and boil for a few minutes until reduced by about half.

  4. Pour the sauce over the sausages and potatoes and toss gently together. Scatter the rosemary sprigs on top, return to the oven and cook for a further 10 minutes until golden brown and sticky with the glaze. Sprinkle with salt and coarsely ground black pepper before serving.

I had to adjust the cooking times as I like my sausages well browned and after the time the recipe stated they weren't brown at all But otherwise an easy tasty dish and the glaze was just right.

Was looking for something different to do with sausages and this looked very straight forward. I'm glad I tried it as it was fantastic. I like sausages well browned so adapted the cooking times anyway and I'm glad I did because I think I got it spot on. Will be making this again.

Really good for kids to make - really easy. Definitely needs a lot longer than the recipe says.

I love this recipe and when it's done it actually looks like the picture above!?? I substitute the marmalade for two tablespoons of apricot jam and add a tablespoon extra of mustard as the cider can be really sweet. Also I would recommend seasoning the potatoes right at the beginning instead of at the end as they taste much yummier but overall a fab dish... I also add parsnips which are so tasty with the cider sauce!!!!

Love this recipe! I've made it a few times and the whole family love it so its an easy one pot dish to do. I usually add onions and carrots and sometimes squash to bulk it out. Definitely a winner in our house.

one of my favourite recipes. have made it for many people and they always ask me to do it again. although i make it slightly different i use roast potatoes as the cider sauce is excellant with them. i pre cook the sausages in the frying pan slightly and add them in with about 10 mins before serving also adding in some preboiled carrots. also when adding the sauce try putting the sausages and carrots on the bottom of the tray and the potatoes on top so they soak up all the flavour and stop the roasts from going soggy!

This is a great recipe as a principle of roasting potatoes and sausages (and whatever else) on a tray but the marmalade makes it far too sweet. I included mushrooms, red pepper, onion and sliced tomatoes and would do the exact same again but omitting the marmalade/cider/mustard concoction and just using a bit more oil with crushed garlic cloves the infuse it.

Very good recipe overall. A few tips: - Fizzy cider will mean a fizzy pan of sauce on the heat. Stir gently and keep an eye on it. - Don't overcrowd your pan. My new potatoes came in a 1kg bag and I had 12 sausages and wanted to use them all. It was nice, but once I removed and scoffed a portion, I carried on cooking it a little while longer and the rest was better, and how I presume it's supposed to be. I guess there's a reason it says 750g potatoes and 8 sausages! - Really good served with a mountain of leafy green salad. Make a dressing of cider vinegar, olive oil, wholegrain mustard, a little honey and a little seasoning.
