  1. Bring a pan of salted water to the boil, tip in the asparagus and cook for 2 mins until just tender. Drain well. Quarter each slice of ham, into 4 shorter strips, then wrap one around the middle of each asparagus spear. Mix the mayo with the lemon zest and juice and a little pepper and put in a small bowl. Serve with the asparagus, warm or cold, for dipping.

My mum used to make this from scratch, although when i moved away i never noted the recipe. This is as close to it as it gets for me. Very very nice indeed, i always grill the asparagus after once it was wrapped in the ham and then add some grated cheese and a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Delicious!!

This is delicious. Quick, easy and so tasty. Was a bit more generous with the ham because we all love it. Will definitely make this again.
