Made this tonight, it went down really well with everyone. Made double the amount of mince - did not double up the spices, always a bit on the cautious side. This was really tasty. The corn and pepper salsa was also great The bean sauce was not as successful, but it grew on me. Thanks for another winner

I looked for a beef taco recipe when I saw what artificial ingredients were in the taco seasoning packet in the supermarket. This recipe was very easy to do and ended up being quite flavorful with the additions in the taco like salsa, lettuce, pepper and coriander. And of course refried beans! I followed the recipe exactly and although I initially thought that was a lot of oregano it tasted fine. Still ended up being a little bland though, but ok. I am English but live in the US so have had a lot of (usually much too salty) texmex food. This is a great alternative to the el paso seasoning packet.

I really enjoy this dish with the "Easy BBQ Beans" from the same issue. Sometimes I add some diced red and green bell pepper and cook until it has softened a bit.
