Oyster masterclass at Ondine, Edinburgh

We’ve planned an exclusive oyster masterclass and tasting at Ondine in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic old town – and you’re invited. This is a rare chance to get in-depth tuition from oyster growers and experts. During the evening, you’ll enjoy a masterclass, a cooking demo, and a tasting with specially paired wines.
Ondine, which has the Oyster Bar at its centre, specialises in seafood and shellfish dishes with a European twist. The event will be hosted by Roy Brett, the award-winning chef who opened Ondine in 2009. Roy, who has worked with Rick Stein and Mark Hix, is passionate about using local and sustainable produce – including sparkling fresh oysters.
You’ll start the evening with drinks and nibbles, followed by a talk from the experts, a tour of the kitchen and an oyster demo. Then sample a range of oysters paired with selected wines.

Tempura with Vietnamese dipping sauce

Chinese New Year supper club at the School of Wok - SOLD OUT

We’ve teamed up with the award-winning School of Wok to plan an exclusive supper club to celebrate Chinese New Year – and you’re invited.
Established in Covent Garden, the School of Wok is renowned for teaching authentic Asian cuisine for the modern domestic cook. Awarded ‘Best Specialist Cookery School’ at the 2014 British Cookery School Awards, School of Wok started life as a door-to-door mobile kitchen, and has taught more than 15,000 students since it opened in 2012.
This unique supper club will be hosted by School of Wok founder Jeremy Pang, author of Chinese Unchopped. He will be joined by executive chef and joint owner of the award winning Yu Alderley Edge, Victor Yu, and together they will be doing cookery demos throughout the evening. Start with a glass of prosecco, followed by dinner with wine or beer, plus each guest will receive products worth £50 from the new wok range, School of Wok by Dexam, to take home.
Sharing dishes sample menu:
Wok-seared salt & pepper diver scallops with wild mushrooms
Slow-cooked belly pork with crispy crackling, served with Baby Gem lettuce, pickled Chinese radish and kin doe sauce
Jeremy Pang’s Sui Long Bao (soup dumpling)
Sea bass or sea bream marinated with lemongrass, chilli and ginger, baked in a banana leaf with sticky rice
Rib-eye with sweet soya lime served with Tenderstem broccoli
Coconut pandan crème brûlée Cantonese-style, finished with sliced caramelised pineapple
A glass of prosecco, followed by a meal with two glasses of wine or beer, with cooking demos throughout the evening. Plus, you will receive products worth £50 from School of Wok’s new wok range.
