Serves 1 - 20 Biscuits

almond and orange florentines from Ottolenghi

  • Vegetable oil for brushing
  • 2 free range egg whites
  • 100g icing sugar
  • 260g flaked almonds
  • Grated zest of 1 orange
  • 100g Dark chocolate (optional)


    1. line a baking tray with baking paper and oil it
    2. mix the egg, almonds, orange and sugar
    3. with wet hands take little blobs out and place on tray then squish as thin as possible
    4. back at 150c for 12 mins
    5. after cooling brush one side with melted chocolate
