  • 500g frozen pea
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes

  • 1l hot vegetable stock
  • 300g pack fish finger (about 10)
  • 3 tbsp green pesto


  1. Tip the peas and potatoes into a large saucepan, then pour in the stock. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 mins, until the potato chunks are tender. Meanwhile, grill the fish fingers as per pack instructions until cooked through and golden. Cut into bitesize cubes and keep warm.

  2. Take a third of the peas and potatoes out of the pan with a slotted spoon and set aside. Blend the rest of the soup until smooth, then stir in the pesto with the reserved vegetables. Heat through and serve in warm bowls with the fish finger croûtons on top.

Still one of my favourite soups! I usually make it without dippers as I prefer eating fish fingers on their own or with mash, but both works really :D

Delicious, simple and a real unique way of having soup. Filling enough to have as a main meal. Made it a few times now and it is wonderful

This recipe is easy to do and really tasty!! Really recommend this as either a starter (smaller portion), or very tasty lunch.

Made this last night, and was very happy with it! I did have to add some spices myself, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, onion powder and a splash of Worcestershire sauce, but it turned out very nice! I posted it up on my food blog :)

Absolutely delicious! I had it with the fish fingers (I just grilled 2 for one bowl of soup, as and when needed) & my mum had with bread as she is a vegetarian. Both of us loved it! I would like to have the nutritional information for both with and without the fish fingers though?!

This soup is really quick and so easy to make. I did enjoy it and think the fishfingers really make it, but I found it a little too thick for my liking and also think the pesto was a bit overpowering - maybe I put a bit too much in. It was nice to try a new recipe but I probably wouldn't make it again.

Really good recipe, fried some bacon with the onion and removed from pan when I blended the potato and peas. Added bacon back to soup. Made loads of soup so plenty for work. Excellent, will make again :)
