Method

  • STEP 1

    Cut the potatoes into evenly sized pieces, ensuring they're not too big. Steam for 5 mins in a steamer insert set over a pan of boiling water, or simmer gently for 5 mins. Drain well.

  • STEP 2

    Tip the drained potatoes into the bottom of an air fryer. Add the oil and toss everything together to ensure the potatoes are well-coated. Set the fryer to cook for 30 mins using the paddle. Check the potatoes are cooked through, then cook for another 5-10 mins if they're not tender or brown enough. Season well.

Recipe tips

  • This recipe was tested in a Tefal ActiFry Genius XL 2-in-1 air fryer which has 2 sections, a bowl with a paddle and a tray that can be added at the top. Timings may vary for other brands, you can find our review of air fryers here.
  • You can toss the potatoes in a little flour before putting the in the fryer with the oil for extra crispness if you like.
